DAPA Measurement Toolkit

Oxford WebQ is a hybrid between a food frequency questionnaire and a 24-hour recall developped by the Cancer Epidemiology Unit, Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford, UK. Its electronic design and the automated derivation of food and nutrient intakes, makes it suitable for use in large-scale prospective cohort studies with repeated measures. It takes approximately 12.5 minutes to complete compared to about 30 minutes for an interviewr-lead 24-hour recall.

Questions on foods from 21 food groups expand to more detailed food choices if the participant gives a positive answer. Reference portion sizes and a range of frequencies for each food item are provided. For many questions, participants cannot go to the next questions if they have not answered to avoid missing entries.

Foods and nutrients intakes are automatically calculated with the use of McCance and Widdowson's Food composition table.

Oxford WebQ has been validated against one interviewer-administered 24-hour recall.
